FAO provides cash assistance to people to restore food security after storms and floods

An emergency relief program that helps vulnerable households affected by typhoons and floods restore food security and livestock production by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) funded the implementation in Quang Tri from November 23, 2020 to February 28, 2021 with a total budget of nearly VND 6.2 billion with the aim of promptly helping severely affected households. most of storms and floods stabilized life.

The project supports 2,473 households in 2 districts Trieu Phong and Hai Lang, of which 2,000 households receive multi-purpose cash support to ensure food security, with the quota of households with 2 or fewer people receiving 900,000 VND / households, households with 3 or more people receive 1.8 million VND / household and 473 households receive conditional cash support to restore livestock production with the norm of 4 million VND / household.

After a period of meeting to review, select, evaluate and list the list of beneficiaries in accordance with the project's criteria, from December 29, 2020 to January 11, 2021, the Provincial Red Cross coordinated with the Provincial Post Office to organize multi-purpose cash distribution to 2,000 beneficiaries in 8 communes: Trieu Son, Trieu Hoa, Trieu Trung, Trieu Do, Trieu Giang (Trieu Phong district) and Hai Quy, Hai Duong , Hai Que (Hai Lang district).

In the coming time, the Provincial Red Cross will continue to allocate conditional cash to restore livestock production to 473 beneficiary households to help people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives early.
